Welcoming a New Addition to the Family

Our best friends have a brand new baby--he's just eleven days old as I write this--and it was my honor and pleasure this weekend to get to take his pictures. Things like this remind me why I love being a photographer. Getting to be the one that people trust to capture their beautiful moments is a special thing, and I'm happy that I can help in this small way. Welcome to the world, baby boy!

Yesterday, we welcomed a new addition to our family.  Eva Akemi Sakasegawa was born at 9:05 on the morning of September 19. She was greeted by lots of loving family:

Mother and baby got to spend a lot of quality time together that afternoon.

For months, Jason has been so excited to become a big brother.  Now that his sister has arrived, he's been great with her.  He loves talking to her, and telling us everything that she's doing and thinking.  "Can I hold her again?" he asked, over and over again, and when we let him, he demonstrated how gentle he could be, stroking her hair and giving her soft kisses.

The first time I picked her up, I wished Eva a happy birthday.  I'm so happy to have the chance to get to know her.

Baby Bee

My wife, Juliette, met our friends M and B through a breastfeeding support group when our son and their daughter were first born. Now, almost three years later, M and B welcomed another daughter to the world, and they were kind enough to let me take some photos of their beautiful baby girl. And the rest of their beautiful family, too! Bee 1
