Just in time for the holiday last weekend, the June Gloom disappeared and summer finally showed its sunny face.
You could, if you were inclined to be a downer, look at this as the start of two months sleeping with the window open at night so that you don't wake up in a pool of your own sweat. And, yes, there are times when I'm that kind of a downer. But then I remember that it's also the start of the season of barbecues and beaches. The season of lounging by the pool on a lazy afternoon, of trips to SeaWorld, Legoland and (maybe) Disneyland. The season of sunshine and playing at the park, of lingering evenings and dinner on the patio.
Yes, it's a pretty good time to be in San Diego.
Since I've got blue skies on my mind (and since I'm a huge nerd), I'll close with a little piece of my childhood, courtesy of E.L.O. Happy weekend, everybody!
