One of the things that stuck with me from the time I used to travel a lot for work was from my last trip, to France. Knowing almost no French, I had to ask the engineers that were hosting us how to say everything, which they were quite happy to help me with. As it turned out, the way to say "Have a good weekend" was just "Bon weekend," and now every time I leave my office on Friday evenings, that phrase runs through my head. Anyway, as my way of wishing you a happy weekend, I'm starting a new weekly feature. Every Friday I'll introduce you to a few things that have made me happy recently. Hopefully there will be something in there to make you happy, too!
This week, a pair of songs:
- Starting off today with Mayer Hawthorne's bouncy, Motown-inspired "Your Easy Lovin' Ain't Pleasin' Nothin'" was just what I needed to put a spring in my step.
- And then as I drove home, just as the sun was starting to set, M. Ward's contemplative, beautiful "Undertaker" came up on my iPod's shuffle. Great way to end the day with a warm feeling.
Happy weekend, everybody!
